Abstract

The word logic derives from the Greek λoγoσ: reasoning, and is defined in the OED as the:

  1. (a)

    branch of philosophy that deals with reasoning and thinking, especially inference and scientific method

  2. (b)

    systematic use of symbolic techniques and mathematical methods to determine the forms of valid deductive argument
