Abstract

BHP Steel is the world’s 14th largest steelmaker and a leader in coated steel technologies, with a range of metallic coated and painted steels being manufactured worldwide. BHP Steel operates four integrated steelworks. Three steelworks are in Australia - Port Kembla and Newcastle, New South Wales, and Whyalla, South Australia - and one in New Zealand - Glenbrook, near Auckland. BHP Steel has iron ore mines in Australia and ironsands mines in New Zealand that supply its raw materials. A series of rolling, coating and painting facilities throughout Australia and the Pacific Rim process the steel into finished product.
