Abstract
The integrated development environment (IDE) of Visual J++ is shared with other Microsoft development tools, most notably Visual C++. Since many Java programmers have a C++ background it makes the transition to Java easier, however if you are new to both Java and the IDE you do have an extra overhead before you can begin to write applications or applets. If you are familiar with other development tools such as Visual Basic or Delphi you will see many similarities.
