Abstract
Every application that we use or write is very likely to have bugs in it. More worrying is that even if we did have an application that did not have any errors we could not prove it. However thoroughly an application is tested it is usually impossible to check every combination of input data and circumstance which may arise, some of which are outside the control of the programmer. An unexpected situation, such as running out of memory is a contingency that few programmers are likely to have considered.
