Abstract

Evolution of Telecommunications Networks requires Network Management architecture to cope with different interface types and different transmission techniques. in the future, a scenario having a single transmission mode and a single vendor equipment type Is becoming unrealistic. New management architectures must be scalable, performant and open to interoperate with other vendor’s applications. Alcatel proposal for the management of large SDH networks, integrating other vendor’s Regional Managers and open to Multi Domain Transmission Network Management is presented.
