A simplified block-diagram of a computer with analogue interface is shown in Figure 10.1, where
  • ADC is an analog-to-digital converter that transforms the input signal x(t) into a numerical sequence {ξ k }

  • CP is a computer program that transforms the input sequence {ξ k } into the control sequence {ψ k }

  • DAC is a digital-to-analog converter that reconstructs a continuous-time function v(t) on the basis of the sequence {ψ k }
