Abstract

When true operational Web services come to be suggested, the staff involved realize that this will affect their role as service providers. Some see a significant decrease in their income. Even more people are afraid of becoming redundant. Others simply fear losing some of their authority through not being the only ones in possession of certain types of information. This challenge can only be met if a serious discussion of the professionals’ role in the new, more technologically equipped, organization is undertaken with those involved.
