Abstract

This chapter will examine the fundamentals of project management (PM) as it is applied to large system development. The various key aspects of PM such as work and resource estimating, schedule planning and control, along with budget allocations and spend monitors, will all be assessed here. Together, they provide the third vital support for new system projects — as shown in Figure 6.1.
