Abstract
The filtering theory under the (min, +)-algebra is most suitable for communication networks with fixed packet size, e.g., the ATM networks. For networks with variable length packets, e.g., the Internet, additional efforts must be taken to deal with the problem of packetization as addressed in Section 2.4.
