Abstract

This chapter covers those complications that occur during performance of the block or within the first 24 hours thereafter. While most complications are minor, some are life threatening. Mulroy and colleagues recently published a review of the literature and recommendations to avoid some of these life-threatening complications from epidural injection of local anaesthetics.1
