The purpose of physical security is to separate people who are not authorised to access certain sensitive objects from those objects. In general, this is achieved by a combination of hiding the whereabouts of the sensitive objects and then enclosing the objects in a protective container so as to make it difficult to gain access to the objects even if their whereabouts is known.
