Abstract
In Part I of the book, we have discussed crucial concepts to understand reliability assessment for design and in Part II we focused on some fundamental failure mechanisms that are often the root cause of many component failures and hence, system and product failures. We will now turn our attention to testing. We will begin by reviewing our perspective on relevant issues of product integrity and how the important concept of testing fits into development. Then we will focus on specific tests and test matrix design through Test Effectiveness Evaluation. The objective being to develop the methodology that will provide the most valuable and effective test program, to integrate into a physics of failure based reliability assessment process.
