Abstract

Even if eyeballing the cosmos, using your CAT for visual observing, is your only interest at first, as time goes on you may become interested in using your telescope to record what you see. You may also become attracted to the idea of hooking your scope to a computer. Computers and imaging are complicated topics, and what’s included in this chapter should be considered merely an introduction to the high-tech side of the SCT. Photography and CCD picture taking, especially, are subjects for entire books. But the following should be enough to get you and your CAT on the path to the complex modern side of amateur astronomy.
