In cognitive science terms, this book has been an exercise in knowledge elicitation ... which is the process of finding out what’s in people’s heads in relation to some matter of interest. So, what’s knowledge? This question has exercised the minds of philosophers for millennia. One definition that I like is:
Knowledge is a justified belief that increases an entity’s capacity for effective action (Nonaka, 1994)
