In Chapter 26, I led the reader on a whirlwind tour through the Pms’ action strategies for handling “risky” situations. Now I want to slow down a little, and take a more reflective view of at least some of the strategies. One way I could do this is to take each strategy in turn, and to say some wise things about it. But this might become repetitive, and boring. Instead, I’ve organized this chapter, and the next, around a small number of perspectives (looking-glasses) which I have selected from the literature on organization theory and IS project management. This approach allows me to deal in a more integrated way with whole groups of strategies, rather than with individual strategies.
