Analysis to Design

The difference between analysis and design is similar to the difference between an architect’s drawings and an interior designer’s drawings. The architect tells us the number of rooms, the distribution and functions of these rooms, and so on. The interior designer however tells us more about material, colour and how the design will be done. The analyst is the architect who tells us what we need, while the designer is equivalent to the interior designer who tells us how to achieve what we need in more detail. UML uses this analogy in providing us with analysis and design tools.
