Abstract

This chapter familiarizes the reader with the different types of uncommon epithelial ovarian tumors: Brenner (transitional cell) tumors, mixed Brenner-mucinous tumors, atypical proliferative (transitional cell) tumors, malignant transitional cell tumors (malignant Brenner tumor and transitional cell carcinoma), squamous tumors, mixed epithelial tumors, undifferentiated carcinomas, and malignant mixed mesodermal tumors (carcinosarcoma). The reader will learn about these tumors’ clinical features, macroscopic and microscopic features, relevant ancillary studies, immunophenotypes, and clinical outcomes. Diagnostic pitfalls and differential diagnoses are also discussed.
