‘Scientist’ (MicroMath Scientific Software, Salt Lake City, UT) is a program for solving systems of differential equations and for fitting systems of differential equations to data. The graphical user interface is pleasing and simple, and it does exactly what it should do: it makes it possible to use the software without reference to the manual. The model and initial conditions are entered through an equation file in which the equations look much as one would write them by hand. Parameters may be entered through the same equation file or through a parameter file. Data are entered and results are obtained in spreadsheet format; results may be easily plotted.
