Abstract

In high-voltage transmission systems and plasma technology it is of primary interest to understand various aspects of corona discharge phenomenon leading to corona stability regime in non-uniform gaps filled with high-pressure SF6 gas. This invokes determination of swarm parameters for modeling kinetic behavior of ions and ionic clusters. To estimate mobilities of SF6 ion in the parent SF6 gas a new semi-quantitative approach is made utilizing space-charge current flow and field measurements in concentric cylindrical-gap geometry.
