Abstract
At the present time toxic proteins of snake venom are grouped into more than 10 categories in accordance with chemical structure and pharmacological properties. The following 4 big groups have been allocated by Karlsson198: curaremimetic postsynaptic neurotoxins, a multitude of membrane toxins, toxins with phospholipase activity, and crotamine.
