Abstract
This chapter covers the review of the Buck converter design space exploration, already presented in Chap. 2. However, in this case, the detailed models presented in Chap. 3 are used to model all the converter components, taking into account their microelectronic implementation by means of a standard CMOS process. The results of such exploration yield and optimized design of the Buck converter in terms of power efficiency and occupied area, and all the details corresponding to each component design are provided. Finally, important conclusions on the feasibility of the microelectronic implementation of a Buck converter are discussed from the results.
