Abstract
Completing regular backups is probably one of the most, if not THE most important part of a System Administrator’s job. Your users will depend on you to keep an up-to-date backup of all their files. This is especially true when you have a network of many diskless clients and a couple of big servers. In sites that have many computers, completing backups can be a very time-consuming job. Larger sites often have a backup operator or night shift, whose primary job is to get the backups done, usually in the evening or early morning when few people are using the computers.
