Abstract
Three important issues confront “consultants” before initiating entry to a client setting .These are: Should one do consultation in this situatution? Whose interests will the consultant sever? What will be the primary focus of consultation? Consultants can answer these questions in different ways, and the answers will be determined by a number of factors discussed in the paper. The main argument is that these issues are unavoidable and that consulatation effectiveness will be improved if consultants carefully think through these issues early in the consultation process and remain aware of the stances adopted.
