Abstract

International real estate investment is on the rise. Pension funds and other institutional real estate investors, who have traditionally looked only at their own real estate markets for investment opportunities, are increasingly looking across national borders. For investors based in countries like the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, this is just another step in a rather old tradition, but for United States investors, international property investment is really a rather new phenomenon.
