A Few Approaches To Face Detection In Face Recognition Systems

  • Chapter
Advanced Computer Systems

Abstract

Accuracy of face detection process is the most important task for efficient face recognition systems. In this paper a few methods for face detection are presented, which we use in our face recognition systems. Comparing and examining the methods presented may be useful for improving these systems. The methods presented in this paper are based on different, but simple ideas, i.e.: skin color analysis, image gradient analysis or template matching. Their simplicity is an advantage, which allows us to implement them in real time face recognition systems.
