Abstract
Astronomy is about waiting, as much as anything else. We cannot go out and touch the stars, we cannot experiment with them; we just have to take what they send us – light, electromagnetic radiation of all colors and wavelengths. Astronomy is about collecting light, whatever comes our way. Recognizing this implies a passive approach that gives astronomers plenty of time to dream and think about what it is that is doing the shining.
