Abstract

This chapter investigates a key aspect of aging in place with important impact on family care, that is, housing. There has been a disconnect between aging and housing in China research. The chapter approaches the topic by linking it with the study of social stratification in urban China. By using national statistical and survey data, policy recommendations are made to support aging in place by improving housing provision, increasing geriatric nursing training, etc.
