Physics of Baseball & Softball

Abstract

Most of the physics in this book can be understood in terms of basic high school mechanics and slightly beyond. This chapter is provided for those who might need some extra guidance or a kick-start. The author has taught a course in sports mechanics for physical education teachers for many years. Many of the students arrive at University without ever having studied physics and only a small amount of mathematics. Some arrive after being in the work force for a few years and have forgotten everything they knew from high school.
