Abstract
In this chapter we consider [X,Y], the collection of morphisms from X to Y in the homotopy category HoTop*. For arbitrary spaces X and Y, [X,Y] is just a set and there is not too much to say. We could ask if it is finite or infinite. If finite, how many elements does it have? If infinite, is it countable or not? We answer some of these in the next section.
