Abstract
There are many satisfying projects that can be undertaken with the spectroscope; some are more suited to the higher resolution slit designs, but the majority can be attempted with even the basic transmission filter grating. Internet forums and groups that are open to all amateurs interested in astronomical spectroscopy are very useful; there you’ll find that the more experienced forum members are only too willing to share their knowledge and assist the novice.
