Surgical Mentoring

Abstract

Mentors should be selected early in the menteeā€™s career. Mentees require multiple mentors throughout their careers. The selection process should be initiated by the mentee. The mentee must be well prepared for meetings with the prospective mentor and make appropriate follow-up. The mentee must be proactive to maintain mentoring relationships. Most mentoring relationships are transient.
