Abstract
Acute pulmonary embolism is known as the great masquerader. Many of the clinical signs and symptoms are nonspecific and may be suggestive of various diseases. However, appropriate and timely diagnosis and treatment are imperative. The goals are to improve survivalship and prevent the long-term sequelae of thromboembolic disease.
