Abstract

Living in Space? Living on the moon? Living on Mars? The real question is not if, but when. Our race has a deep and abiding urge to move outward: to explore, to solve mysteries of the unknown, to conquer new worlds. We have pretty well overrun this planet. Our current and approaching technologies have and will provide the long awaited opportunity for Earth life to expand outward to new worlds. We are not destined to remain earthbound. We will explore and settle both the moon and Mars. Our grandchildren, their children, and especially their grandchildren will be our new pioneers and lead us to new destinations.
