Abstract
Before discussing the kinetic theory of the inner magnetosphere, it is necessary to describe the physical characteristics of this region and its position in the near-Earth’s space plasma environment. It is also useful to give a brief overview of the plasma parameters of this focused area, and to provide a qualitative discussion of the major processes that control the formation of this region of the space plasma.
