Abstract
A showcase is presented of the stunning deep sky images from the major international ground and space telescopes accompanied by short explanations relevant to their capture and color. Every whirling mass of stars, galaxies, and clouds of gas, nebulae, has its own shape and color. False colors assist with interpretation of the images obtained. Galaxies come in different shapes and nebulae in a variety of forms. You can even go online to assist with sorting the shapes of galaxies in a way that is difficult for computers to perform. Exotic deep sky bodies also exist, black holes, for instance. Amazingly, amateurs are also able to capture superb color images of galaxies and nebulae, some of which are presented here.
