Abstract
The first tourists on the Moon were the astronauts. Everyone was a tourist. It took a lot of willpower to focus on one’s work rather than look around in awe at the extraordinary sights. Of course, eventually, the view became more routine and, regardless, the astronauts were very disciplined and work came first. Several generations of my family visited the Moon before my parents permanently moved to the Moon in 2115. My great grandparents visited for the first time in 2059. They were involved with the construction of the Earth and later lunar space elevators. The initial strands of the Earth elevator were placed in orbit in 2046. It was brought up to full capacity within four years. The initial strands of the lunar elevator were placed in orbit in 2049.
