Abstract
In the previous chapters, we reviewed the abundant observational evidence that impact events were widespread early in the history of the Solar System. We also discussed the effects age has on impact features. In this chapter and in Chapters 4 and 7, we will see that impacts continue (at a much lower frequency) to the present era and are observable even today. This chapter highlights some of the notable impact events of the last millennium.
