Abstract

In this chapter we will review how to process and analyze tweets. We will go over the Twitter object format and the fields it contains. You will also learn about JSON, the data interchange format used by Twitter to share tweets and other information, as well as how to load data with this format into Splunk, including timestamp considerations. New commands will be used to create a number of searches for handling tweets in a historic way and on a real-time basis.
