Abstract

chapter 12 explored the bounded range controls that support scrolling and the input or display of some bounded range of values. In this chapter, we’ll examine the data selection controls, J List and JComboBox, that present a list of choices to choose from. The primary difference between the two is that the J List component supports multiple selection whereas the JComboBox does not. Instead, it lets a user provide a choice that isn’t among the available options. Figure 13-1 shows the two controls we’ll be examining in more detail.
