Working with Vectors

Fireworks MX: Zero to Hero

Abstract

In this chapter we’re going to take a closer look at the Vector tools introduced in Chapter 2. Vector tools enable us to create and work with vector shapes on our canvas. We’re going to familiarize ourselves with the tools by making a variety of tabs and a tabbed folder using both the Rectangle and Pen tool. The Pen and Rectangle tools can be used to make a variety of shapes to enhance your designs, particularly when used in conjunction with the Combine Paths operation. In this case, we’ll learn how to draw a basic heart shape, before making a more complicated decorative ornamental shape
