Abstract

I am the creative director of Juxt Interactive, a web design firm based in Southern California. Although I’m not a trained musician, my main responsibility is developing the sound for the majority of the projects developed at Juxt. In my five years of web design experience, I have led JUXT Interactive’s creative team in building intelligent and angaging experiential web projects. Given this background, I’m going to write here about the relationship between sound and design, This is a partnership that is becoming increasingly important with the advent of Flash 5 and the more involved design goals that the communty is striving towards.

“... We are surrounded with layers of visual drama in nature, in erosion, in progress or even in the Net. Capturing these things at just the right moment when I’m driving down the road or walking into a store provides the roots of my inspiration.”
