Abstract

Windows 8 has lots of ways to notify the user of whatever is happening inside an app. There are the tiles, both application tiles and secondary tiles, there are badges that can show either glyphs or numbers, and then there are notifications. We’ve talked about the first two choices in Chapter 6, so in this chapter we’ll discuss notifications. We’re going to focus on toast notifications and lockscreen notifications.
