Abstract
SharePoint 2013 includes a new search platform that can be used to locate information across SharePoint and the rest of your enterprise. The SharePoint 2013 enterprise search is based on the FAST Search platform, which was available in conjunction with the SharePoint 2010 platform. SharePoint 2010 had included both an enterprise search and the separate FAST Search for SharePoint product. As these were two separate services, organizations needed to decide whether they wanted to use the provided enterprise search or introduce FAST Search to support their search needs.
