Abstract

In this chapter you’ll learn how to start making role-playing games, strategy games, and board games. You’re going to learn only one important new technique—how to use a two-dimensional (2D) array—but it’s going to totally blow the lid off of the kinds of games you’ll be able to make from now on. I’ll show you how to make a basic hybrid strategy/role-playing game from scratch that you’ll be able to use as a model for your own games.
