Abstract

IT administrators play a crucial role during the migration from MOSS 2007 to SharePoint 2010. They perform the majority of the work and there is a need to know almost all the internals of SharePoint 2010, so they can facilitate a smooth transition of existing elements. Many key tasks discussed in Chapter 1 will be planned and performed by IT administrators. Apart from those, administrators also need to ensure that they take care of migrating other settings that we shall discuss in this chapter. Depending on the upgrade approaches we discussed in Chapter 1, strategies will differ, and maintaining continuity and minimizing disruption are of high importance, even critical, from an end user’s perspective.
