Abstract
This chapter is concerned with columns that automatically flow from one to the next like in newspapers or magazines. The CSS Multi-column Layout module (http://dev.w3.org/csswg/css3-multicol/) achieved Candidate Recommendation status in December 2009, so is considered fairly stable. However, browser implementation has been slower than many other parts of CSS3. Flowing content into multiple columns involves only a small number of properties, which are easy to use.
