Abstract
In the chapters that follow, we show you how the ASP.NET Framework uses the idea of controls to create reusable chunks of functionality that can be reused in multiple Web Forms and even multiple projects. We are going to get into a lot of detail and so the purpose of this chapter is to give you a high-level overview of the different categories of control that are available and how each is applied. We also show you how to manage the controls that are in a Web Form, using techniques that can be used irrespective of the kinds of control you are working with.
