Abstract

The Java development environment IntelliJ IDEA of JetBrains (http://jetbrains.com/idea) is now freely available with the community edition. It provides another alternative for developing NetBeans Platform applications thanks to the integrated Maven project support. In this chapter, I will give both beginners and professionals some tips for using IntelliJ IDEA to successfully set up of a NetBeans Platform-based application.
