Abstract

For the most part, jQuery UI contains the user-interface functionality associated with jQuery, but some basic effects and animations are included in the core library, and these are the topic of this chapter. Although I describe them as basic, they can be used to achieve some pretty sophisticated effects. The main focus is on animating the visibility of elements, but you can use these features to animate a range of CSS properties in a number of ways.
