Abstract
Adding content to your SharePoint site is easily done in Visual Studio 2010. However, developers like to make things happen. Code is written to solve problems, and that typically involves action, not just content. Developers are tasked with extending functionality of a given product or set of technologies. SharePoint Online and Visual Studio provide the environment to fulfill that assignment. This chapter will focus on building custom functionality into your SharePoint Online site.
